Scholarship Regulation
To apply for a scholarship, you can send your CV through the HR department or email it to
ik@birikimpilleri.com.
PURPOSE:
The purpose of this regulation is to define the rules regarding the scholarships to be provided by Birikim Pilleri Batarya Teknolojileri A.Ş. to support the education and training of talented young individuals who lack financial means, aiming to integrate them into the community.

SCOPE:
The provisions of this regulation apply to successful undergraduate or graduate students enrolled in
higher education institutions who have limited financial means.
IMPLEMENTATION:
a) Determination of the Number of Scholarship Recipients
The number of scholarship recipients is determined each year by the HR Department, considering the
company’s future human resource needs and the annual amount allocated for educational scholarships, with the proposal of the HR Department and the approval of the General Manager.
b) Scholarship Amounts
The monetary amounts of the scholarships are determined by the HR Department before the start of each academic year. TÜFE (Consumer Price Index) increases are taken into account in this determination. Whether or not an increase is applied is subject to the General Manager’s approval.
c) Duration of Scholarships
As a rule, scholarships are granted for one year and cover the period from the start to the end of the
academic year, which corresponds to 9 months.
d) Principle of Reciprocity in Scholarships
Scholarships are fundamentally reciprocal. Upon completing their education, scholarship recipients pre-accept to work in positions assigned by Birikim Pilleri Batarya Teknolojileri A.Ş. for a duration proportional to the length of the scholarship they received. The company reserves the right to exempt the scholarship recipient from mandatory service if deemed necessary.
e) Eligibility and Selection Criteria for Scholarships
While Birikim Pilleri Batarya Teknolojileri A.Ş. reserves the right to select scholarship recipients, the following factors are considered in the selection process:
- The student and/or their family’s financial situation must be insufficient or very limited to continue
- their education.
- For merit-based scholarships, financial status is not taken into account.
- The student must demonstrate academic success.
- For students in intermediate years, the highest grade point average up to that point is
- considered.
- Greater financial need compared to other applicants for the given academic year.
- Other reasons determined by the HR Department of Birikim Pilleri Batarya Teknolojileri A.Ş.
f) Application
To benefit from the scholarship, students must apply with the following information and documents:
- A personal declaration stating that the student and/or their family’s financial situation is insufficient or that the student has outstanding achievements.
- The completed Scholarship Request Petition, along with:
- Detailed family registration certificate (from the Population Directorate)
- Document indicating the family head’s income status (certificate from workplace and a copy of the latest payslip). For self-employed individuals, a copy of the previous year’s tax plate.
- If available, a document showing the student’s success at school.
- For new university entrants: ÖSYM (Student Selection and Placement Center) Result Document and the institution’s document showing the entry success rank.
- For students in intermediate years: documents showing the grades from current or past semesters, overall grade point average, success rank within the class, and the upper class they have enrolled in.
- For new master’s students: relevant institutional document and undergraduate graduation degree.
g) Commitment
If the scholarship recipient is of legal age, they sign the “commitment for special educational
scholarship in exchange for mandatory service” (Appendix 2); if not, their legal guardian signs
alongside them. They pre-accept compliance with the terms and conditions stated in the commitment.
h) Payment of the Scholarship
Birikim Pilleri Batarya Teknolojileri A.Ş. transfers the monthly scholarships of students with complete
documentation to their bank accounts, starting from the beginning of October.
Termination of the Scholarship
The scholarship is immediately terminated if any of the following occur:
- The student receives a disciplinary penalty (excluding warnings) from the educational
- institution.
- The student engages in behavior incompatible with student status for any reason.
- The student is found to no longer require financial assistance.
- The student is convicted of any crime.
- The student voluntarily withdraws from their studies or is dismissed due to failure, disciplinary
- issues, absenteeism, health reasons, legal reasons, or similar causes.
Renewal of the Scholarship
If the conditions for benefiting from the scholarship continue and the student documents their academic
success to Birikim Pilleri at the end of the academic year, the scholarship can be renewed for the
following year through reapplication.
POST-GRADUATION OBLIGATIONS OF SCHOLARSHIP RECIPIENTS
Birikim Pilleri Batarya Teknolojileri A.Ş. scholarships are reciprocal. The company’s aim is to integrate talented young individuals who lack financial means into its organization. Upon completing their education, scholarship recipients must notify the HR Department of Birikim Pilleri Batarya Teknolojileri A.Ş. within one month that they are ready to start their mandatory service obligation. If they are called for military service immediately, they must send a copy of their military service call-up paper (sülüs) to the HR Department and apply for a position within one month after completing military service.
The tasks, workplace, and job title of the scholarship recipient are determined by the HR Department, taking into account their education and training. The mandatory working period is equal to the duration of the scholarship provided. However, since the annual scholarship amount is distributed over 9 equal months, the calculation of the mandatory service period will consider 9 months as one year. For durations shorter than 9 months, a proportional calculation will apply.
If the scholarship recipient fails to apply to Birikim Pilleri within one month after completing their education to fulfill the mandatory service obligation, or if they leave their position due to their own fault before completing the required service period, or if they engage in conduct during their education that would have caused the scholarship to be terminated, they are obligated to repay Birikim Pilleri Batarya Teknolojileri A.Ş. the total amount of the scholarship they received, calculated in USD at the current exchange rate, as specified in the commitment.
If, within two months of application, the HR Department is unable to assign a role to the scholarship recipient, the mandatory service obligation is temporarily suspended for 10 years. The scholarship recipient may begin working at another workplace due to the inability of Birikim Pilleri to assign them a role. If the recipient leaves this other job for any reason before the 10 years are up, they must reapply to Birikim Pilleri Batarya Teknolojileri A.Ş. within one month to fulfill their mandatory service obligation.
ENFORCEMENT AND AUTHORITY OF THE REGULATION
The implementation of this regulation, approved by the General Directorate of Birikim Pilleri Batarya
Teknolojileri A.Ş., is the responsibility of the HR Department.
Any amendments to the regulation, approved by the General Manager, become binding on the scholarship recipients as of the date they are enacted.
